Tournament Results

Saturday April 20, 2013

On Saturday, April 20th fourteen students from Cecil's Korean Martial Arts Centre in Blind River competed in KMAC’S World Dahn Moo Do Open Martial Arts Championships in Sault Ste. Marie. This tournament was also the regional qualifier for the Canadian National Team.  These students competed in four divisions -  forms, sparring, self-defence and weapons forms.

The under Black Belt (Coloured Belts) students who competed were

Anna Cyr competed in the Ladies Black Belt Category.

These fourteen students had an extremely successful tournament coming away with a total of 26 awards. These included -

  • SIX  1st place trophies
  • Seven  2nd places
  • Seven  3rd places
  • Five  4th places
  • One  5th places

All Students placing 1st 2nd or 3rd ,  in Forms, Weapons & Sparring won the right to try out for Team Canada.  The try out will take place around mid- May, in Ottawa. (long weekend )  Both Linda and I are very proud of our students for a great showing and the hard work they did to get there. The next tournament is back to Sudbury, The Mid-Canada Karate Championship, Saturday  May  4, 2013.
