Tournament Results

The national tryouts held at Ottawa during the Victoria weekend May 15-17 witnessed the best of the best from across Canada. Connor Cyr (14) and Anna Cyr (19) of Blind River, both past winners at WKC 2013 in Italy reclaimed their spot by achieving the following: Connor took Gold in continuous sparring, Silver in forms, and Bronze in point sparring. Bronze in continuous sparring went to Anna and fourth in forms. Rebecca Mackay (15) of Elliot Lake placed Bronze in continuous sparring and fourth in forms. Dokmay Fraser of Cutler placed Bronze in traditional weapons. It was Dokmay and Rebecca's first time at the nationals and they are excited to do their country proud. "It was a pleasure to be a part of the student’s success" says Pierce who attended with the students.

Saturday May 2, 2015, Sudbury, ON

Cecil's Korean Martial Arts Centre in (Blind River & Elliot Lake), traveled to Sudbury Ontario to compete in The Mid-Canada Karate Championship at Cambrian Collage. Six martial art students brought home 12 trophies and medals.

Saturday 18, April 2015  Sault Ste. Marie, ON

Sixteen martial artists from Blind River & Elliot Lake traveled to Sault Ste. Marie to compete in the KMAC World Dahn Moo Do Open Martial Arts Championships & Regional Qualifying try outs for Team Canada. Our Students competed in four categories, open hand forms, weapons forms, self-defense and sparring.

Five students from Cecil's Korean Martial Arts Centre in Blind River and Elliot Lake competed in the Nickel Capital Budo Challenge in Sudbury on Saturday March 21, 2015.

Saturday February 14, 2015, Sault Ste. Marie, ON

On February 14th sixteen students from Blind River, Cutler and Elliot Lake travelled to Sault Ste. Marie for the first tournament of 2015. These students competed in Forms, Sparring, Self-Defense, Weapons Forms, Long Jump and High Jump competitions.

June 7, 2014, Sault Ste. Marie, ON

On June 7 sixteen students from Cecil’s Korean Martial Arts Centre in Blind River & Elliot Lake travelled to Sault Ste. Marie ON to participate in Pinder's Family Martial Arts Centre's Open Martial Arts Championships.  Our students ranged from the youngest of 4 years old to our oldest student of 40 plus.

May 16-18, 2014, Ottawa, ON

On the weekend of May 16 - 18 Martial Artists from all over Canada travel to Ottawa to try to win a place on our National team. Three Martial Artists from Blind River traveled to our Nation Capital in pursuit of that goal - Anna Cyr, Katie Brock and Connor Cyr.

On Saturday May 3, 2014 six Martial Arts Students traveled to Sudbury, ON to compete in the Mid-Canada Karate Championship.

Saturday March 29, 2014 - Sudbury, ON

On Saturday, March 29 Martial Arts students from Blind River and Elliot Lake travelled to Sudbury to compete in the Nickel Capital Budo Challenge tournament.  Nine students competed in four divisions, Forms, Sparring, Self-Defense and Weapons Forms, plus Team Forms.

October 14 -20, 2013 Taranto, Italy

Cecil's Korean Martial Arts Centre is extremely proud to have had two of its Blind River students, Anna and Connor Cyr recently competed in the World Karate and Kickboxing Tournament in Taranto, Italy as part of team Canada.  This tournament had approximately 1700 competitors from 12 different countries.

May 17- 19, 2013

Cecil's Korean Martial Arts Centre was proud to have three of its students from Blind River compete in the World Karate and Kickboxing Council Nationals in Ottawa during the May long weekend. These three students were Anna Cyr, Connor Cyr and Katie Brock.

On Saturday, April 20th fourteen students from Cecil's Korean Martial Arts Centre in Blind River competed in KMAC’S World Dahn Moo Do Open Martial Arts Championships in Sault Ste. Marie. This tournament was also the regional qualifier for the Canadian National Team.  These students competed in four divisions -  forms, sparring, self-defence and weapons forms.
